You will have to contact the state agency that licenses and controls that occupation for specific information. There is nothing disclosed as to WHAT kind of felony offense you were convicted of and they may grant exceptions. HOWEVER - if other states are any indication, the answer is, 'probably not.' In the course of their job performance and activities EMT's have access to narcotics and other controlled drugs and the likelihood of a felon being granted a license to practice that gives them access to these is highly doubtful. Call the Illinois

state licensing agency and ask.

No indication of what state you are writing from. Check with your state agency that licenses EMT's. I sort of doubt it, -BUT- it may depend on the type of offense you were charged with.

Can i be an emt with a felony?

It does depend on the felony charge. If for example you have a felony charge related to drunk driving then I doubt any hospital would hire you as an EMT. Felony charges that also were a long time ago are different. You just need to disclose them and be honest when you apply for the job.

Can a convicted felon become an emt-paramedic in the state of Oklahoma?

Being in the posession of a felony conviction will not stop you from earning your EMT-B license, although it may limit the places you can apply to and eventually work for. Some county and state orginizations may have rules in regards to hiring someone with a felony conviction. Check into the local laws or county/state laws concerning this before you take the class.
