What is the difference between enamel insulated wire and paper insulated wire?

Paper insulated wire is coated with DuPont's NOMEX Paper wrap which can withstand temperature over 200 degrees centigrate. Enamel insulation usually is coated over aluminum wire and shipped from 3rd world countries to put in our houses because housing contractors don't care if your house burns down. bottom line is money, enamel is cheaper.

Why insulated copper wire is used in making solenoid?

If the solenoid wire is not insulated the number of turns will be reduced by the uninsulated wires touching and shorting out the turns.

What are some examples of a closed circuit?

A connection from a power source, through a load and a return back to the power source. <><><> An example: electricity is supplied to the light switch on the wall through an insulated copper wire, even though the switch is in the off position electricity is present. There is another insulated copper wire going to the light bulb. When you flip the switch the circuit is completed and the light bulb comes on.

Why are electric wires insulated?

If you don't have insulation on the wire, then the loops in the coil will touch each other and short to each other. Instead of have x number of turns on the coil, you would basically have a solid conductor if the wire was not insulated.

What are the functions of Double insulation?

How are electromagnets formed?

A magnet consisting essentially of a coil of insulated wire wrapped around a soft iron core that is magnetized only when current flows through the wire.

Why must you use insulated copper wire for coil of an electromagnet?
