Yes, you certainly can because it is your property. However, it would be illegal to bury it, for example, in someone else's yard or in a state park, because you don't own that place. About the only pet I know of that you can't bury anywhere is a horse, but a dog should be perfectly fine.
If you live in a city you need to check the local laws to see if its legal. If the property is outside of city limits you can probably bury a horse on it. I know many people who live in the country that bury horses on their property.
