Verizon does not use sim cards up until recently near the end of 2008 i heard they will be accepting phones from different carriers to use on their network as long as the phone has been unlocked. I'm not sure when or if they will even go through with this, which would be nice but that is what i heard..
that is not true they will not take phones from other plans

∙ 14y agoYes I have the Samsung intrepid and it does have a sim card in it as of 2010 so im not sure what other phones have sim cards but the samsung intrepid from sprint does have a sim card

∙ 9y agoThe Sprint HTC Evo 4G is CDMA so it does not use a SIM data card. However, the HTC EVO 4G LTE is a GSM technology wireless phone that has a SIM card for use in the United States.

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards, so the Verizon iPhones presumably don't. All AT&T iPhones have a SIM card, though.

No you cannot. The Verizon SIM cards are only designed to work on international networks. Nextel also does not use a GSM network, they use iDEN and GSM SIM cards are not compatible with it.

So... if you switch the SIM card, the phone still won't work because it has nothing to do with the CDMA and that's what Verizon Wireless works off of. HOWEVER, you can activate a Verizon Wireless phone on an existing account by dialing *228 pressing SEND then choosing option 3.

Verizion uses CDMA and CDMA networks don't use Sim Cards cause i only know of GSM providers using Sim Cards Sim Cards like tell the phone your number , minutes and stuff. a phone can't work on a provider without a Sim Card (CDMA phones are programmed via there OS or circuit board).
