yes , you need the converter from high to low, found at walmart, connect to speakers, if have factory amp install before the amp
Thanks
An external amp comes stock in the original player that came with the jeep. The external amp is under the back seat, on the driver's side.
I'm assuming that you are referring to the small amp under the back seat? It is wired in using factory wiring harnesses and I don't have a wiring schematic for that. In order to do this you'll need to either get a schematic and one may be available from one of the aftermarket repair books such as Haynes or if you want to replace the amp online sites such as Crutchfield have wonderful wiring harnesses that fit with factory for an easy swap out. I recommend you do further research into the Jeep archives in Wiki Answers as this question has been discussed many times before.
you dont
They make bypass plugs you can get at best buy or anywhere that sells car audio.
It could be a combination of wires and the amp, but I would start with the amp.
The molding around your radio pops off, you may need to pry in the cornors. take out the 4 screws that hold in the radio, pull out radio disconnect the antenna, power, than plug back in the new one, replace molding.
To install an amp to a factory radio of a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, ensure that the amp bypass the harnesses.
