Doctors who need a cell phone for when they are on call do not necessarily need an expensive one. If they only need it for emergency purposes, a good prepaid phone would work well as long as they kept minutes on the phone. Prepaid phones are much less expensive and are of almost the same quality as more expensive phones.
Actually, no. I have called someone from Wisconsin to Tennessee before and it was not a long distance call. On some phones, it is considered a long distance call even if the person doesn't have the same area code as you, but that is mostly old phones. Today, it wouldn't be a long distance call, it would be a long distance call if you called London (just an example) from Wisconsin though.
Other brands of prepaid cell phones other than Tracphone are offered by many companies. Some are AT&T, Virgin Mobile, Sprint, Cricket. They come in many different shapes and sizes, with multiple options.

To be able to use a prepaid cell phone, you have to first top up the phone with money (usually by buying a phone card, and then entering the phone card number and PIN into your cell phone). You are able to make calls up until your balance gets exhausted. Pay attention to start-up costs and per minute call rates when considering prepaid cell phones.
Cell phones can get locked very easy. All you have to do is press a button and the keypad will lock. When you go to make a call, you will be instructed to enter a pin number or another code in order to get the phone unlocked. Some of the prepaid phones do not have the locking feature so you don't have to worry about this situation.
you cant call it back
I'm sorry to say to you that the Env Touch can not be a prepaid phone. It has something to do with the internet because for the regular plan, you would have to pay an extra $10 additionally to the original plan. So the Env Touch can not be a prepaid phone. but there are many other phones that can be a prepaid phone like then Env 2 which is not on the prepaid page on the web but it is a prepaid phone and lots others. you can also call the Verizon store for further information but I hope this helps u and answers most of your questions about the Env Touch :)
