The beliefs and opinions of people are not so simple. Some people believe you catch colds from going out with your hair wet....air conditioning....going out in the cold without a coat... the list is ENDLESS. THE FACT IS, that when your RESISTENCE is lowered (your immune system is less strong), by CONSTANTLY taxing your body by doing some of the above behaviors, IT IS EAISER TO CATCH A COLD. IT DOES NOT CAUSE A COLD OR FLU. <<>> >>>While cold air does Not CAUSE a cold or flu it DOES make you more likely to get sick because cold and even hot air tends to dry out the mucus membranes of your throat and mouth making it easier for you to pick up any viruses. The worst culprit - Air Conditioning and Allergies. During the summertime allergies can irritate your airways making you more susceptible to infection.
