It depends one what pool you go to. There are some swimming pools that have lines on the bottom and there are others that do not
Yes it can be done
Is the skimmer plastic? Does it have a black bottom? If so, there is a kit for this. Check out black bottom skimmer repair - search.
just poor cups of salt in it
If it is genuine 'black algae' it is very difficult to remove without emptying the pool and gouging the black algae out of the pool surface. Other algae can be removed by shocking the pool, filtering continuously and brushing walls while maintaining a good sanitizer level.
No. It is purely an aesthetic choice. It is a myth that black bottom pools are warmer. Don't argue with me, I have proved this several times. Put a black plate and a white plate in the bottom of a pool and check it a few hours later to see if there is any temp difference....there won't be. Water absorbs all the heat in the first 12 inches.
Where is the drain located? If it is on the wall near the top then you can keep the water in the pool. If it is near the bottom then you may have to drain the pool.
Brush vigorusly with a S. S. wire pool brush and treat with granular black algaekill. Treat frequently because it is very hard to kill this type.
At the bottom of the pool.
Yes. We had a black/brown pepple tec installed over our stained concrete pool and it does make the water a little warmer. Not significantly but noticeble enough to enjoy a quick dip.
Acid wash it with a presure sprayer.
There is no filter at the bottom of a pool. Perhaps you are looking at the hydrostatic valve which is there in case your pool is emptied and Will make sure that the pool wont float in ground water.
