It depends. If you live in an area with one or more overlay area codes, you may be able to get a number in a different area code. For example, if you live in Tulsa, you may be able to swap your 918 number for a 539 number. You may also be able to get a number in a different area code from an internet-based phone service or from a cellular provider. However, it is very, very unlikely that you will get the same local number in a different area code.
