Horses are generally clipped when they are in hard work during the winter and really sweating, though it's not necessary. Clipping is rarely NECESSARY, though many owners of horses with cushings disease will clip their horses for their comfort in the summer months.
A trace clip is a type of horse grooming cut where hair is removed from the underside of the neck, chest, and belly to help the horse stay cool during exercise by reducing sweating. It is a common clip choice for horses in moderate work in colder climates.

If you mean clipping as we would call shaving on humans, then it is really up to the individual, not all horses are clipped. but if they are clipped, and you want them to stay that way, just clip them when their fur is longer than you want.
It's called a Bridle Path :)
There are many websites available from which one can find free clip art of horses. Horsecrazygirls and graphicsfactory are just two sites that offer many different horse clips.
its not actually on the horse, its kind of like a way of cutting a horses fur, you "clip" their hair, like shaving some-one's head, there are lots of different types of clips which just include clipping the fur off in different places basically, the hunter clip is just one of these.
