How do you wire a 3 wire exhaust fan to a 4 wire outlet?

The fan is probably a 115 VAC single phase fan and the outlet is probably a 230 VAC "two phase" outlet. The fan would then have the following wires: hot (black), neutral (white), and ground (green). The outlet would then have the following wires: hot #1 (black), hot #2 (red), neutral (white), and ground (green). Pick either of the two hot wires on the outlet and connect the hot wire of the fan to that (ignore the other hot wire on the outlet) and connect the neutral to neutral and ground to ground. If the wire colors are not as I described above you may have something else (e.g. 3-phase) and that would be wired differently, but those systems are usually used only in industrial settings not the home.

How do you get electricity to a wall switch when getting electircity from an outlet?

Simply run a wire from that outlet to that wall switch. Be sure you use the exact same wire size that you find in that outlet. It will be AWG 12/2 or 14/2. Do not mixes wire sizes. Connect the ground to green ground screw at outlet, and white wire to silver screw, and black wire to gold screw. At the light switch connect all white wires together under a wire nut and push them back into the box. Connect the ground wire to the green ground screw on the switch. Now connect the 2 black wires you have left, power in and power out, to the 2 screws on the switch. Does not matter which wires you connect to the 2 screws.

How do you connect 3 wire to 2 wire 240volt's I'm trying to remove the washerdryer outlet and branch four 240v receptacles from the 240volt 3 wire outlet?

just leave the neutral wire as it is and connect the other two !!

What are the wires on a Lincoln ac 225 welder there are 2 black and 1 green?

Check the nameplate on the welder, if the voltage that runs the welder is 240 volts then the two black wires connect to a 240 volt supply and the green wire connects to the ground of the supply.

Can a 3 wire load center be use in a 2-wire environment?

yes you can. but you will have less 220 v circuits. <<>> In North America if you only have a two wire supply it is usually 120 volts. To connect a three wire load center to this supply, a jumper wire is connected across the two lugs that would have taken the 240 volt input if you had that supply voltage. This is where your 120 volt supply is connected. The neutral of the 120 volt supply connects to the neutral buss bar. What this connection does is "hot" up both sides of the buss bar so that you will have 120 volts on each breaker outlet. By eliminating the jumper you would only have every other breaker slot energized.

How can you wire a 3 wire attic fan to a 2 wire thermostat?

If your thermostat is designed to switch the fan on and off at say 120 volts, then it acts just like a switch. This means that you insert the two wires from the thermostat in series with the black wire going to the fan. So let's say you have a supply of power for fan that has black, white and bare wire ground. You connect the white to white on fan and ground to ground. You then connect one wire of the thermostat switch to supply black and one to fan black wire. If you are unsure of the type of thermostat or anything else get an electrician. This is just one possible solution given the information provided.

Where does the red wire in a baseboard heater connect to the black or white wire in the wall?

In the heater you will have two wires. You should then have 2 supply wires from the panel, and 2 wires from the thermostat. The neutral (white) supply wire should go to one of the wires on the heater. The hot (black) supply wire should connect to one wire from the thermostat. The other wire from the thermostat will connect to the other wire from the heater.

Do you need 3-wire romex to feed bedroom ceiling box by electrical code?

No, you can feed it with a 2 wire Romex + ground. It depends on what is mounted on the ceiling. If it is just a light all you need is 2 wire + ground Romex. However if it is a fan/light and you want to control each one independant of the other you will need to use 3 wire Romex + ground. This is of course if you have 2 seperate switches. You would then connect the red wire to the blue light wire and the black wire to the black fan wire. If you use 2 wire Romex just connect the blue and black fan/light wire to the black wire in the ceiling box.

Can you connect 12-2 wire to 14-2 wire together?

You cannot connect 12-2 wire and 14-2 wire together. This can be dangerous, and it will cause issues with the circuit.

How do you correctly wire a switch to a bathroom fan light combo you have 1 w b g coming from your breaker box you also have 2 w b g wires one that controls the fan and one that controls the light?

Tie all White wires together. Tie the Grounds together and connect them to the ground screw on two switches. Create a pigtail with TWO black wires coming out. Connect a black wire to each of the two switches. (you pick which screw, but be consistent. Connect the black wire from the light to the remaining screw on one of the switches. Connect the black wire from the fan to the remaining screw on the OTHER switch.

How do you connect an electric motor fan on a 1973 Chevy Nova?

It's a simple 2 wire hookup. 1 hot wire 1 ground. Switch in hot wire optional. if you use a thermo, that will serve as the switch at preset temp. Ensure shroud fit's your core. Most fan kits come with easy to follow instructions & you just crimp the connectors.

How to connect 2 PC through switch?

Connect a wire from each PC to an unused port on the switch.

How do you hook up a 3 way with power 2-12 light 2-12 and switch 3-12 all together in the second switch box?

There are lots of diagrams on web under 3-way switch. However, the general principle is as follows. There are three terminals on each switch. One is the common and the other two can be used interchangeably. You connect the others together one for one between two switches. Then one switch common goes to supply voltage (Whichever box has the supply) and the other switch common goes to the load. Connect the supply white wire to the white wire in the light. If supply and load are in different boxes you will have to use one of the wires to connect together the neutrals between boxes. If they are both in same box you have to use extra wire to extend the common to the box where the supply and load do not exist.

How do you wire a light to a switch at the end of a run and which controls an outlet?

Bring power into the light switch box 12/2 or 14/2 wire depending on the existing wire. Make sure you use the exactly same size wire that is used on that circuit. If you do not know look at the breaker in the main panel that controls power to that circuit. 20 amp will be 12/2 wire and 15 amp will be 14/2 wire. Now run another wire from the switch box out to the outlet. Inside the switch box, strip both white wires back 3/4" and connect them together under a wire nut and push this back into the box. Connect the 2 ground wires together and then connect that to the ground screw on the switch. You now have 2 black wires left. Connect them to the 2 screws on the light switch. Does not matter which black wire you connect to which screw. At the outlet connect the ground wire to the green ground screw, black wire to copper screw, and white wire to silver screw. That outlet will now be controlled by the light switch.
