SLI-ing two different GPUs is a tricky business. Generally speaking, it is not a good idea to SLI different cards as they may have compatibility issues and whatnot. If you wish to SLI, do it with the same cards.
Yes as long as you have a good power supply they have the same interface, PCI-E SLI.
No. 9600GT does NOT support TRI-SLI!!! 2 GTX 260 is possible.
Yes

I would recommend at least 500W!!!
I would go for two 980 Ti's but you never know when a game might have problems with sli configuration
No as long as they have the same clock/memory then it should work fine.
SLI-ready means that you can run two of that same type of card together in one computer, giving you a performance boost, and spreading the load between the two cards.
Yes. I have run a single XFX NVidia GeForce 6600GT and 2 in SLI. Either way it will work. I recommend 2GB of memory and at least a 2GHZ processor, or you will be staring at the same screen for a while.
Connect the cards to the motherboard and use the jumper which came with the motherboard to connect the 2 cards together ,and there you go!
