I don't think there is such a thing as a "diesel battery". Perhaps you mean the batteries used in diesel cars; the batteries usually used in cars are lead-acid batteries, the acid being sulphuric acid.
being a super duty i assume this is a diesel engine. diesel trucks have 2 batteries. did you check both batteries. then check all fuses if it is a diesel engine there will be 2 batteries .did you check both batteries
Same chemistry but the diesel engine is heavier and has greater compression so it needs a heftier starting motor and battery, 65Ah is not uncommon and 85 - 95 Ah are out there too. A heavy truck or tractor will have a 24V (even 36V) System with several hundred Ampere-hours batteries.
Remove battery cables - both batteries
Batteries are basically the same for petrol or deisel engines, but diesel engines require more cranking force and demand a bigger battery. So a battery from a diesel engine is ok for petrol, providing it fits.
most battery last five years
The diesel battery is bigger as it take a lot more to get a diesel engine going. Best bet is to charge the diesel battery using the petrol, connect the 2 and leave the petrol engine running.
On a John Deere 4010 diesel with the generator, NOT an alternator. Put new batteries in and some how ended up with the left battery negative ground and the right battery positive ground.Ran for a day that way and then the next day the tractor wouldn't start. Dead big time. No lights either.I know NOW the tractor is suppose to be positive ground after my mistake. What did I fry by doing this? Battery, generator, lights, etc?
Mine Innova Diesel battery lasts for 48 months, the battery still can start the engine smoothly, but a little bit bulged, so I decide to change it.
Most diesels have 2 batteries to supply the necessary cold cranking amps Two little batteries are cheaper then one big battery
This depends on how the batteries are connected and what the voltage of the charger is.Open a discussion question page with this information for a complete answer.
Just a diesel with dual batteries.
