Yes a bit, It is still the Decepticons wanting to get Energon to keep their race alive the Autobots protecting Earth. The Autobots are now working the Lenox and his team (Lenox's team were the ones who got attacked by Blackout in the begging of the first movie). Optimus Is still leader. There are new characters (some of which are killed off by the end of the movie). Megatron is revived after being killed by Sam in the first movie. And basically from what I heard the third movie is going to be about the Decepticons merciless revenge and attempt to take Earth as their new home.

Kind of but to me not really but they are good movies at least they have the same characters
