I wouldn't recommend eating a platypus. Should you choose to do so, I recommend the same recipe as the one I use for seagull. It's pretty simple, actually.
Take a seagull and a rock about the same size, and drop both into the pot. Boil them until you can stick a fork in the rock. Then throw away the seagull, and eat the rock.
