you need the password. if you nkow what files you need, you may be able to take the drive out and put into another computer as a secondary drive and look over into it from that main drive, and copy the files you need to save. then re-install the os. i don't know if that will work but it may be worth a try if you dont have a better option. somebody else may know how to get around the password. if this is a home computer, you might try the obvious password, which is administrator. good luck.
