Pour vegetable oil or baby oil onto the burrs, and after a few minutes of soaking, you should be able to separate the mane from the burrs, and then comb using a mane comb to remove the fine pieces of burr.
Yes, you can cut burdocks out of a horse's mane or tail if they are completely tangled in there. If you are using the horse for show though and do not wish to cut the mane or tail, it is possible to try and remove the burdocks by soaking that section of the mane in either detangling spray, baby oil or olive oil. These will all help loosen up the matting and allow the burdocks to come out easier. You will have to let it soak it well (at least five minutes) and take your time coming it out in order to preserve the mane or tail.
If you placed oil in the mane, it should be washed out once your horse's mane or tail has been cleaned.
when you clip the mane close to the horses neck it is called a hogged mane, so if you were cutting the mane off, then you would say you were hogging his mane.
Bridlepath
Its Called A Bridle Path.
It's called a Bridle Path
NO you cant cut a horses tail! they need them to swat flys and they might need tails to enter higher class shows! you really shouldint cut a mane unless its the bridlepath
no, all horses have manes unless the owner has decided to 'hog' the horse (cut its mane off) or it rubs it out on a fence etc.
Well you can cut the mane and tail, it just depends on the breed and how you're showing the horse. Cutting the mane will result in a horrible haircut though if not done right. Cutting the tail to trim up the bottom can make the tail look fuller.
It is not necessary to cut your horses hair. You can pull your horse's mane/tail to think it out for shows or whatnot but otherwise you don't have to. As for body clipping, unless you work your horse hard in the winter then it is unnecessary.
The area of the horse's mane behind their ears is called the bridle path. It is shaved on horses with thick manes, like Morgan horses to let the bridle or halter lie flat, and to show off the curve of the horse's poll.
First of all horses and ponies don't have their manes cut they have them pulled. And yes they do have them pulled but most owners just leave them put for extra cuteness. :) if you are showing in 4h/open/or just have it for a pet you just leave the mane natural- personally i have never seem a mini's mane pulled
Cutting the mane behind the horse's ears is called trimming the bridle path.
It is called a bridal patch or bridal path for the headpiece of the bridal to sit when it is on.
