Can you die from leaving an extremely tight band around your left wrist overnight?

Theoretically yes. A blood clot could form and when the band is released the clot could travel. If the clot goes to the brain, potential death from stroke. If clot travels to the lungs, potential death from pulmonary embolism. However if the result is a stroke, There is a likelihood of other horrible complications. Brain Damage, Paralysis, memory loss, Language processing, sensory processing, the list goes on.

If the blood flow to the hand has been affected, tissue death could have occurred .This could result in loss function in the hand, or possible amputation. Another possibility would be blood poisoning which could cause multiple organ distress and possible failure. Your kidneys could suffer irreparable damage.

If the band was effectively a tourniquet and stopped blood flow to your hand

you wouldn't be able to feel your hand. and your hand would possibly be dead.

If the band has been in place

less than an hour probably no long term problems.

1 or more hours call your dr and/or go to Hospital

2 or more hours have someone take you to hospital.

4 or more hours call an ambulance and be still. The rescue squad would be better prepared to move you in this potentially high risk situation.

However the likelihood of you dying from the band isn't high. However the complications could be severe, disfiguring, or even disabling.
