Can you digest your own hair?

No, this, as many people may disagree, is impossible for the human digestive system to do. Now, cats also cannot digest hair, which is why they have to cough up hair balls after they lick themsleves. There is a special type of acid in the human stomach. This concentrated acid is specialised in digesting food, and partially drinks. The reason why we cannot digest hair(s) is because (a) it is grown from our own underskin, which is why the immune system refuses to accept it and (b) because hair is, techniquely speaking, dead skin cells. Also, very rarely is it that hair can actually get to the small intestine, let alone large intestine! It barely goes half way through the Esophagus (food tube), which is why we feel like vomitting when it goes there.

No you can't digest hair. You can swallow if down, but your digestive system will not process it so what comes in will come out the same the other end. It just like eating corn and cilantro
