I am by no means an expert, but I do read a lot. Having had a hysterectomy, I was anxious to have my wine too. Everything I read said probably not a good idea if you are on meds. Also it may cause you to bleed more. Now on the upside, I read if you are not on meds, it is okay and may even take the edge off helping you to relax.
After you have recovered from the operation, drinking alcohol (beer, wine, or spirits) regularly and in moderation promotes better health and greater longevity than abstaining from alcohol.
