Those warnings posted on the menus and walls of sushi restaurants and oyster bars are there for a reason. Eating any kind of raw flesh -- especially seafood or pork -- at any time is dangerous, whether people want to believe it or not.
Eating it while ill, when the immune system may already be compromised and the body's ability to fight off and recover from infection is impaired, would be extremely unwise, verging on stupid.
We don't want to be rude, but we do want to make that perfectly clear.
