Yes of course. Vegetables are very rarely dangerous when raw, only bitter and tough, in the case of beats and raddishes and such.
Most of time you are eating your tomato raw, you just don't think about it.
Sure.
You might want to rinse them first though. Get rid of whatever that might have stuck on the surface while they grew, were harvested and transported.
A Tomato raw or cooked is a veggie, But it is in the vegetable category of fruits. 'Cause in Vegetables, there are categories like leafy, green, fruit, etc.! I hope I helped!
A fruit from any plant is the part where the seeds develop. Tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, peppers, are all fruits of their respective plants. People refer to them as vegetables because the term "fruit" has come to mean sweet fruit.
-edit-
People confuse "the fruit of" with "a fruit" way too much. Vegetable, or "Vegetable matter" is really any part of the plant. This could be the stalks (celery), the seeds (beans), the roots (carrots), the flowers/blossom (brocolli), the buds (brussel sprouts), or of course "the fruit of the plant" (tomato).
But when people say "a vegetable" or "a fruit" then they are talking about the plant itself. Fruits come from woody stalks or stems that do not die off each year but just sprout again to grow more blossoms and fruit. So this includes fruit trees, grape vines, blueberry bushes etc. They all remain each year.
So when you say you eat your vegetables, you really mean edible plants that have to grow up from a seed each year and produce more seeds to replace themselves each year. And when you say you eat a fruit you mean you picked a fruit off of a tree/bush and ate that.
Its not about sugar content or seed placement in a pod or whatever ppl like to argue about. Its about how you word what you are saying.
These dinosaurs ate vegetable matter. That means they could have eaten trees or bushes or melons or whatever. If you say these flies lay their eggs in fruit trees then you dont mean "the fruit of" a tomato plant or a cucumber vine etc.
Only if you are allergic to tomatoes, prone to intestinal problems like diverticulitis, or if the tomato has been exposed to either germs or pesticides.
Otherwise, a fresh tomato (washed, of course) is one of the healthiest foods you can consume. It is high in fiber, vitamins and antioxidants; and a good source of fluid if you happen to be dehydrated after exercise.
A:Tomatoes actually have a lot of acid in them, so be careful how much of it you eat. And if by raw you mean, fresh off the vine, then no. It's not poisonous or anything like that.Yes but it isn't particularly pleasant
