Bankruptcy does not affect movements between UK and Australia. Nor will bankruptcy stop you getting an Australian visa. Your bankruptcy in the UK will not exist on your records in Australia.
You do need to inform the Insolvency service in England once to move to an Australian address though. This is part of your stipulations in a UK bankruptcy. Your income and expenditure will then be re-assessed. ∙ 13y agoYour credit rating is not checked for your migration application so it will not affect you getting your visa. However it may affect your credit rating in Australia as some banks carry this over and may affect getting a mortgage. If the debt is large there is every reason to suspect that they will track you down - paying off a £ debt on an $AUD income can be hard.

∙ 14y agoThe debt will not go away and depending on the amount of debt, they can persue you if you move to australia. If its only a couple of thousand pound, chances are they wont bother.
