What is so different about Israel's postage stamps?

The glue on the back of the Israeli stamps is kosher. For virtually all countries the value of their postage stamps lies in the stamps themselves. Naturally only a few stamps in a sheet can have these extra "tabs" as they are called attached. Such stamps are worth more than the more numerous ones which lack the tab. The difference in value is especially pronounced in the early years (thru about 1955) AS MANY OF THE EXPLANATORY TABS WERE NOT SAVED. I J Firestone
