The question itself is slightly confusing, but here goes: If you mean the embryo implanted and then pain was felt, well it is hard to say, as you would need to know that the pain was the result of the embryo implanting itself which would realistically happen a few days later (after embryo transfer) and as a human, one would surely be guessing! If however, you mean; was there any pain after the embryos were left inside - then I would have to say, for me, yes. The pain was unbearable and I could not move my legs. I remained in foetal position in bed all night on the day of my embryo transfer. My abdomen was swollen and I wasn't allowed to take any strong pain killers. I am convinced this is why my first cycle did not work. This and a few other contributing factors. As I was in pain for most of the 'journey,' it would be hard for me to say if the worst pains I had that evening were solely down to the embryo transfer alone. Possibly the fertility drugs needed to be purer to make my system less reactive. I had too many follicles - 35. Borderline OHSS, but they continued my treatment. When I think back now; it should've been abandoned. They had no problems abandoning my 2nd cycle/go, as this time it was our money, not the NHSs. Just wanted to post in response to this ^^ I have just had my embryos transfered back and I felt no pain at all. I think this poster was unlucky as the process should not be a painful one. I didn't even require any sedation but neither did I have OHSS. As for implantation pains, they say that you may feel twinges as your Uterus contracts when the embryos are put back in. The embryos should implant 5 - 7 days after fertilization. Another response from me: I guess it varies from patient to patient. As the above shows some have a lot of pain and discomfort, some none at all. Same goes for the extraction of the eggs, it was slightly uncomfortable for me yet the other two women being there at the same time were in so much pain they had requested a mild morphine drip to take the edge off. The transfer itsself is SAID by experts not to cause much discomfort, and it would seem more likely women experiencing pain, cramps etc. do so more because of the ovary stimulating fertility drugs than the transfer or nesting of the embryo...
Did this work for you ? I am very curious to know as mine is almost same . It's 24 on day 13
Mild cramping after vigorous sex is normal but severe pain is not.
Implantation can start to occur as soon as 6-10 days after retrieval (I use "after retrieval" because embryos can be transferred on different days of development. Count the retrieval day as day 0). Five days after the retrieval a healthy embryo will have reached the blastocyst stage. Six-seven days after the retrieval, a healthy embryo will start breaking out of its hard outer shell and begin the implantation process. After the healthy embryo has implanted in the uterus it will not start secreting hCG for several more days. You will probably not be able to feel the implantation process.
Yes, but it isn't the baby you feel. A baby doesn't move this early.
A throbbing pain experience in your head. A headache is a stage when the blood vessels in your head don't pump blood properly, causing your head to go through a stage of pain.
It takes about one day.
