My tadpoles just became frogs, and I'm pretty sure they're American Green Tree Frogs. They're not much bigger than my fingernail so I have been feeding them the really tiny ants (not the giant carpenter ones) two in the morning and two at night. So far, so good! I have a feeling frogs will eat anything that they can fit in their mouths (especially if it moves) but you should also definitly sprinkle anything you feed it with calcium powder you can get at pet stores that sell frogs. Good luck!

What can you feed a tree frog?

Tree frogs are carnivorous and will eat a variety of bugs: crickets, wax worms, meal worms, super worms, blood worms, and fruit flies. You should have a vitamin and calcium supplement and sprinkle it on the bug so your frog gets plenty of vitamin and calcium. If your frog is tiny, fruit flies are the best. Medium sized frogs will eat meal worms, blood worms, and small crickets. Wax worms, super worms, and the larger sized crickets are pretty big, so you should only feed these to the bigger tree frogs, like White's tree frogs or any other big tree frog.

Do frogs and tree frogs eat different things?

Not necessarily. However, whilst almost all species of frogs feed on insects, different species are often in close proximity to larger prey. For example, green tree frogs have been known to feed on small birds and bats, as they often share tree space with them. On the other hand, the ground-dwelling ornate horned frog of Argentina will happily consume a mouse. Frogs which spend more time in water will feed on tiny fish and even turtles.

They can live with other green tree frogs, red eyed tree frogs, and other similar sized lizards or frogs and toads. pets to avoid are dumpy tree frogs which will eat them, and poisonous dart frogs or other poisonous or aggressive amphibians or reptiles.
