The V.S.S. [Vehicle Speed Sensor] on a 1998 Ford Windstar is located on the passenger side, rear side of the transmission. It is well hidden, and to replace it you must first remove the silver heat shield between the tranny and the exhaust. Then, it is above the pipe and on the top of the tranny. It requires a 10mm socket. For the most part you must use the "touch and fell" method to get the socket on. Once the bolt is loose, remove it and pull out the sensor. To replace, reversr the process.
