I used to know a guy who flat towed one of those round trip coast to coast twice a year behind his motorhome for nearly a decade. The only modifications were for electrical connection for lights and for the tow bar.
if you have 4x4 you can pull 1500 pounds but even if you do have 4x4 i suggest getting a transmission cooling system from uhaul if you have an automatic transmission because even though it says its okay to tow, if your tracker did NOT come with a tow package from the factory (which none of them did) then you need the transmission cooling system or you will fry your transmission and damage your transfer case.
No,it does not do any damage to the engine or the drive-train of the vehicle with an automatic transmission
it cant
Best & easiest way to destroy a transmission- atuomatic or manual
no there is not a factory tow package for the tracker, any tow package that you put on your tracker you will also have to install a transmission cooling system so you do not fry your transmission and damage your transfer case, you can get one at your local uhaul company.
It can.
no it will not
again the tow capacity for a 4x4 2002 Chevy tracker is 1500lbs but you should not tow anything without a transmission cooling system which you can purchase from your local uhaul company, if you tow with your tracker without the cooling system you will fry your transmission and damage your transfer case.
yes
to tow a 1992 Geo Tracker you must either disconnect the drive shaft or use a tow dolly and tow it backwards or you will damage the transmission
Depend on whether it is automatic or manual and if you had the car in gear. If automatic, your parking pin in the transmission may have broken. If manual, yes something in the clutch or gears may be damaged. IMO, if your park is still working, then no damage has been done. Pushing the car 6ft would not damage either the gears or clutch on a manual, and the only damage that could be done to an A/T would be to break the Park Pall.
NO!!!! do not do this, oil is oil, transmission fluid is transmission fluid, and antifreeze is antifreeze, do not mix any of these, it can perminately damage your engine.
