No, Flip summon is only done on your mainphase 1 and 2...
There's a difference between Flip summon and monsters who activates their effect if attacked

If the monsters effect says specifically "FLIP: activate effect blah blah blah" then it is activate.

If the card says "hen this card is flipped face up blah blah blah" then it is activated,

If the card says "when this monster is flip summoned blahj blah blah" then it is not activated because flipping as a result of battle is not flip summoning.

Flip summoning is only when you flip it manually. according to one volunteer

Can you have a flip summon and normal summon in the same turn?

Yes, this is legal. You may perform one Normal Summon or set per turn, and as many Flip Summons as you wish. However you cannot Flip Summon a monster Set that turn, nor if you Flip Summon a monster, turn it face-down in the same turn using an effect, can you Flip Summon it again that turn. Lastly if a monster declares an attack, and is flipped face-down in response, it cannot be Flip Summoned that turn.

Does a flip summon count as a normal summon?

No, a Flip Summon is not a Normal Summon. You can perform only one Normal Summon per turn, but can do multiple Flip Summons in one turn, without affecting your ability to Normal Summon. If a card triggers only from Normal Summon, then it will not trigger from a Flip Summon, etc.

In Yu-Gi-Oh can you flip your own monster?

during your next turn after placing a monster you can flip summon it

Can you manually Flip Summon your monsters the same turn they were Set by your opponent's Book of Eclipse during your Main Phase in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes, as long as the monster wasn't summoned in that same turn. If you summon a monster, and the opponent Sets it, you can't flip summon it that turn. If you'd summoned it on a previous turn, and the opponent Set it, then you can Flip Summon it.Book of Eclipse is best used in the battle phase, since the player has to wait until main phase two to flip summon, missing the chance to attack.

Can you flip summon a monster that you set that turn?

Generally, no. Synchro Monsters are initially Special Summoned FACE-UP. Therefore, there is not a need for it to be Flip Summoned. However, that Synchro Monster may be affected by a card effect such as Book of Moon. In this case, the Synchro Monster is changed to face-down Defense Position. You can then Flip Summon it when possible.

What is the difference between flip and flip summon in yu-gi-oh?

If a face down monster is attacked, then it is flipped for damage calculation, if you flip summon, you do it by choice during your turn. Flip counts for both. For Flip cards like penguin soldier, if it is face down and your opponent attacks it, the effect is activated. For Flip Summon cards like swarm of scarabs, if it is face down and your opponent attacks it, the effect is NOT activated. Both types are activated if you flip summon it. (Also flip activates after damage calculation if you are attacked, so if penguin soldier would be destroyed by the attack, he can't return himself to your hand because he is already destroyed)

Can you special summon dark armed dragon if you already summon a monster?

You can perform as many special summons per turn as you are able to, as well as your one Normal Summon and any Flip Summons.

Can you tribute summon a monster and then special summon?

You are allowed as many Flip Summons and Special Summons you want as long as there are monster zones available. A tribute summon is counted as a normal summon, and you are only allowed one normal summon per turn.

Can you keep flipping your monster to use its effect?

Depends, if you've got a way to keep Setting it, then yes, you can flip summon it again when you next have chance to. Obviously even if a monster can flip itself down, you can still only flip summon it once per turn.

Can you flip summon magician of faith and use its flip effect and then attack?

Assuming the Magician of Faith was set a previous turn, then yes, that's legal. You can flip summon it in Main Phase 1, triggering its flip effect. This in no way stops it, or any other monster declaring an attack in the Battle Phase.

Can you flip up the monster that effected by the card to flip down in the same turn?

You can manually change the battle position of a monster once per turn, (but not on the turn it was set or summoned from hand) If you flip a monster face down with Book of Moon or use the effect of Sonic Bird, then you are allowed to flip summon them in the same turn.

When a monster's effect says you can flip it face down on either players turn could i flip it face up on mine and than down on theirs so i could use the effect over and over?

If it really does say it can be flipped face-down on the opponent's turn, then sure, that works. Most however say 'once per turn' and because they are Ignition Effects, it really means once per your turn. But regardless, you can Flip Summon it, attack, then turn it face down in your Main Phase 2. If it is still alive in your next turn, you can Flip Summon it again and turn it face down again. If it gets attacked but survives, then you can still reuse it, just the other way around. Use the effect to turn it face down, then Flip Summon it.
