Need government issued ID to travel on a plane. Can be a DL, or State ID or passport.... Check with the airline before flying if there are any doubts.
As a pilot, no.
As a passenger, post 9-11, good luck.
You need a photo ID, not necessarily a driver's license. It is really stupid that an expired driver's license is not acceptable, even though it is obviously a genuine form of photo ID.
Bring some sort of documentation with you to prove you\'re in the U.S. legally. Otherwise you risk being detained by the TSA.
No, you cannot fly domestically with an expired visa. Domestic flights within a country typically do not require a visa, but you may need a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license or national ID card, to board the flight.
Yes, as along as you have an address in the state it expired from
If it is expired in one state it is considered to be expired in ALL states.
Having a passport trumps any other type of identification, so if they have that, and the signature matches, all is good. An expired license is worthless as ID. Notary laws differ from state to state. Some states allow the usage of expired state-issued identification (such as a drivers license) as proof of identity for having a document notarized, others do not. The notary should be familiar with the laws of the state that he or she is licensed to operate in, so if the notary refuses to accept an expired driver's license as proof of identity, you might ask if that's a personal rule (in which case the notary may be able to recommend a more lenient notary) or a state law (in which case it won't do any good to go to a different notary).
Requirements will very from state to state. In general, ANY license expired for 3 years will require reapplying as if for a new license.

Though the expired passport is not valid, you can still use it as an I.D. to get on the plane, It happened to me a couple of months ago. I lost my drivers license and didn't have time to go to DMV before the trip, so I got to the airport early and pointed out that my passport was expired and told them about my drivers license. I also showed them my insurance card, credit card, and work ID. I had to go through extra screening (which actually got me through faster because they pulled me out of the line), but I got on the plane both ways (and I flew out of Dulles on the way back to San Francisco. I'm also a Notary and you can use a expired passport (up to five years after it expires) as I.D. to get something notarized (in California).
Sure they can. Just go to your local Immigration office. They'll put you on a plane straight away.
Once your drivers license has expired, it IS illegal to drive/operate a motor-vehicle in any state. If your license has been suspended/expired for longer than 1 year, you will need to re-take the written portion of the driver's test and the eye exam. Driving without a license is a serious offense and punishable by fine or even possibly imprisonment.
Yes, but you will need some form of valid identification, such as a passport or state ID.
No. You need a passport.
