If you look at the right side of the distributor just under the cap you will see 2 sets of electrical wires that plug into the ignition module. Remove the cap and rotor and you will see it. There are 2 small screews that hold it in.
can a chevy truck with a 350 engine with a tbi cause detonation and pre- ignition?
ignition module
A bad ignition module, That's in the distributor will get HOT and engine will die at times and as soon as the tempture drops a few degrees / module cools off it will start back up. I would replace the module.
get rid of the TBI or go with an aftermarket throttle body,Headers,hi perf ignition
Take the distributor cap off and it will be bolted with 2 SMALL bolts to the distributor plate. It will have 2 electrical connectors pluged into it. Remove the rotor button and it will be easy to get to.
more apt to be the engine control module
I would put a ignition module in the distributor, That will probley fix it.
the ignition module or injector fuse
