There have been people that have had 10-20 cartilage piercings performed at one time, however, if you are intending to have this done with a gun then you need to just not do it. When guns are used on cartilage they cause blunt force trauma which will in the long run degrade the viability of the piercing. You should go see a professional piercer that works in a well known shop to have anything pierced.
Just another ear cartilage piercing, it has no magical meaning, it's just another piercing.

Usually when it itches it means that it is healing. If you recently were pierced then that explains it. If you have recently changed the piercing from one that you had in along time then that is another possible reason. I know that I have the same hoop in for a year or two at a time and when I change it for a barbell it itches for a day or two. It is the skin stretching. If it is swollen, red, or has a discharge then you may want to go in if you have had the piercing for more than a month or two. I know that mine took about 4 months to heal and it itched during that time but after that only when I change the jewelry.

Considering that a piercing isn't fully healed until it's a year old, a light heal is seen by about 6~8 weeks depending on the piercing. So you could get another one in about a weeks time post initial piercing.
