=============================================

I shot super glue into my eye one morning before leaving home for work.

Went back into my apartment and rinsed it with water, to no avail. There

were several hospitals between me and work, and I stopped at the first one,

where I went to the emergency room.

There were no eye specialists on duty in the ER. In fact, the Doctor Who

treated me was most probably a podiatrist (foot doctor). This doctor

bandaged my eye up with the glue still it in, and I couldn't drive because

I had to hold my eye in place with my hand to keep the glue from cutting

my cornea if I moved the eye.

I called my fiancee to come after me, and I spent the rest of the day and

night sitting in his recliner. The next morning he called a surgeon he knew,

famous all over the South for his skill and expertise in special eye problems.

I was very lucky that my fiance knew him. It was a Saturday morning, and

the doctor showed up on his motorcycle. Jerry said he was surprised he

didn't come in his helicopter, as he often did since he'd prepared a landing

pod for it on the roof.

The famous Dr. Jess Lester removed the glue quickly with something that

looked like tweezers, and I could see the glue film come right off. Then

he bandaged it, and it felt so good and clean when he finished. However,

the cornea was already cut, and while it was healing, I had to buy several

sets of reading glasses.
