What eReader device is better - The Amazon Kindle for 185 dollars or the Barnes and Nobles NookColor for 249 dollars?

I own the nook 3g (not the nookCOLOR) and I love it not only is it only $149 but it is wi-fi compatible and easy to buy books considering it is hooker up straight to barnes and nobles, I recommend the nook 3g because even the people who work at barnes and nobles will tell you the NookColor has a very bad glare and you cannot read it in direct sunlight like the Nook 3g I hope this helps make your decision!

Do you prefer nook or Kindle?

I would recommend the NOOKcolor to just about anyone! You can LendBooks to all your friends who have nooks and eBooks are cheaper on NOOK and you can get library books onto your nook too! The Nook also plays mp4 movies, any type of music (Pandora included) and also has some small games like Chess or Sudoku! Although bolth are great if you have the money go for the NOOKcolor anyday! Hello! This is another person. I would recommend the NOOK to just about anyone. If you are looking for a device that holds your millions of books without hurting your eyes, than the NOOK and the KINDLE are almost the same. However the Nook is a little bit higher in price if you want 3G+Wi-fi or just plain Wi-fi. I like the Nook better, because it allows you to read like a normal book, and is organized in such a way that will be helpful and easier to find books in your library which can hold billions of books. And, yeah. I do NOT recommend the NookColor, because yes, it does hurt your eyes. So I suggest you don't get it for reading purposes.

Does the nook read books aloud?

No, the Nook cannot read out loud to you. But the NookColor has that capability w/ some children's books.

How does the nook work?

A Nook is a digital reading system that benefits your eyes. Systems like Ipad, NookColor, and others are full-lighted screens that hurt your eyes. The Nook is programmed to look and feel just like a book. But with the Nook, you can download millions of books but just in one machine. If you are a bookworm, the Nook will really and truly help you.
