I live in NC, though I am sure that if dating doesn't involve sex, yes it is legal. If someone 25 has sex with a minor (16), it is illegal. If the 25 year old is a teacher, health professional, or someone in an influential or employer type position over you, the 25 year old would be in violation of North Carolina criminal code, sexual offense laws. The age of consent changes to 18 years of age under these circumstances and if the parents of the 16 year old minor do not approve of the relationship with the 28 year old, they are within their legal rights to take legal action against the 28 year old in order to prevent the relationship from continuing.

∙ 16y agoi I dont know if a 16 year old in NC can or cant, it never says anything about a 16 year old in the law but I could be mistaken, and just cant find it. if your not caught having sex or touching each other then its probably ok.
