The word "catholic" means universal. Therefore, the Catholic Church really is called the Universal Church. Except for slight liturgical differences due to culture, the standards, morals, and laws are the same. The Church standards on divorce do not change from one country to another. However, if you can obtain an annulment from your previous marriage, you will be able to get married in any Catholic Church that you wish anywhere throughout the world, as long as you have permission from your pastor at the church you are registered at.
