The American Wii U in Korea will still link to the American Nintendo eShop and will require for American currency to purchase games. This is because the Nintendo Wii U's region is set to America. No matter which region you are in, the console will only connect to the eShop for the region it was set to.However, you will not be able to access the Korean eShop as the Wii U is region locked and the location cannot be changed to countries outside of the Americas.
