ofcource u can, even though it is hard.
I have my periods every 3 months, but this time my periods were almost 5 months late, (just about 1 week less).
Then when i did ultrasound i was told i am about 4 weeks prego.
I also havea friend who had irregular periods then one time her periods didn't come for about 5 month. she was told she is 5 months pregnant

You can't prevent it, its a natural part of growing into a woman. Your body gets rid of the eggs in your womb cause you havent got pregnant yet, that's why you have periods, i think in the process it makes new ones and after a month or so you'll have another period to rid the old eggs and make more ready for when you do eventually have sex to get pregnant.

If you are having a period, then no you aren't pregnant. If you are "spotting" then you could be. If it makes you feel better go and get a cheap test. They are usually as sensitive as the expensive ones. Good luck! -K
