Yes. There are both SMS, WiFI and Infrared (IR) devices specifically designed for text messaging only.

IR Devices require compatible recipients, so your friends would need to have a device specifically designed to work with your device. Also, many of them require that the devices be close together, so it might work across a classroom.. but not across the street.

There are also SMS text devices that work with a cell phone account, and Wifi versions that require internet access.

Is it true that Text is truncated when the cell that it resides in is not wide enough to display all of it in Excel?

This will only happen if there is something in the next cell. If the next cell is empty the text in the cell will seem to spill into it. If there is something in that cell, then you will only see text in the first cell up to the width of that cell. The full text is still contained within the cell, so it is not lost. To see it in full, you would widen out the column that the cell is in.

What is truncate in excel?

If something is truncated, then it has been cut short, so you cannot see it all. If you have text typed into a cell that is too wide to fit and there is something in the cell beside it, the text will appear to be truncated, so you will only see the text that does fit in the cell. The other text is not lost, just not visible. There is also a TRUNC function for truncating digits off a number. You can specify how many digits to show.=TRUNC(100.7562,2)This will show 100.75 as it is only showing two decimal places and ignores all after that.If something is truncated, then it has been cut short, so you cannot see it all. Can you attach photos to the Windows Notepad?

No. It is purely a text editor so it can only deal with text. You would need something like Microsoft Word if you want to have text and photographs in the one document.
