Getting a felony expunged doesn't make it go away - it simply limits access to that record. A felon with an expunged record is still a felon, and is still prohibited from purchasing, possessing, or being allowed access to firearms and/or ammunition. That's a federal law, and it does not vary between states.

After 30 years can a felon own a gun in Iowa?

Not unless he has requested that of the state that his felony record be expunged and requested that his gun rights be restored. If the person was a convicted FEDERAL felon, they will not be able to - no mechanism is in place for granting federal felons a restoration of their rights.

Can a convicted felon get gun permit rights restored for a job in ga?

The way I understand this question - you are asking about getting your gun rights restored so that you can get a job carrying a gun in Georgia??? If that is the case, you had better check closer with GA authorities - altho you MIGHT be able to have your felony expunged and your gun ownership rights restored, I SERIOUSLY doubt that you would ever be able to get a license to carry a gun for employment.

Do all felons in Montana get gun rights back?

Absolutely not. If its a federal felony no state can give them back. If its a Montana felony they will have to ask the court and there is a good chance their request will be turned down.

How do you get your gun rights back in state of Colorado?

Well, it all depends on your situation. If you've convicted of something which is a felony only at state level, and NOT a federal felony, it MIGHT be possible to have your gun rights restored. You need the services of a lawyer, and there is no guarantee. If your felony conviction was a federal felony, your chances are more or less nil. If you've been convicted of a crime of domestic violence or something drug related - whether felony or misdemeanor - that further reduces your chances of being able to have your gun rights restored. Again, you need the services of a lawyer here, who can be privy to the exact details of your situation, and can make a determination as to the feasibility of trying to have your gun rights restored.
