My planned Scriptural charge to the ordination candidate is as follows.
1) Speak the WORD of God
- Hebrews13:7 "...who spoke the word of God to you." 2 Timothy 4:2 "Preach the word" 1 Peter 4:10,11 "...as one speaking the very words of God
2) Serve the SON of God
- Hebrews 13:7b,8 "....the outcome of their way of life.....their faith..." The outcome of the way of life of godly leaders is Christlikeness. The outcome of their faith is the same. Paul writes "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."
3) Shepherd the FLOCK of God
- Acts 20:28 "Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock..... " "Be shepherds of the church of God...." I Peter 5:2 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care..."
