You could, but you need to be very careful and not do anything you are not sure of. You also need to call for help and let anyone who knows more than you take over.
You can't, FIRST AID is what you give/do, not something that is applied to a wound. What is applied to a wound is a dressing, bandage or plaster. When you are trained in First Aid you will be taught how to apply these treatments effectively.
Pressure points are no longer taught in first aid. Direct pressure and elevation are what is taught.

You should have some first aid training before helping someone, but then again, you can still help someone of you don't have training. You just have to be careful not to try to do anything drastic. Give them some very simple help until someone who can do more for them comes along. Get yourself some first aid training if you can.
