With Korea being a peninsula, it is alot easier for people to draw one line to divide the country. If Korea had been land locked, border lines would have to surround the country. The US has two borders: Canada and Mexico. North Korea has two borders: Red China and South Korea. South Korea only has one border to worry about. Canada has two borders: the US to it's south, and one border at it's northwest...the US state of Alaska.
