I don't know if you can or should with every dog but when my dog couldn't eat and we had to get through the weekend before we could go to the vet. and the pet stores around us didn't have Dogsure which is like Ensure only for dogs, we figured we had to do something to keep our dog alive until Monday so fed him Ensure, vanilla flavor with a dropper. It helped our dog get back to his normal self relatively quickly and we were very releaved.
