an ectopic pregnancy has the same symptoms and signs as a regular pregnancy and you still develop the hormones you would with a normal pregnancy. The human chorionic gonadotropin levels are what cause the pregnancy test to read positive. All pregnancies have hcg levels that should be doubling every other day in early gestation.. an ectopic pregnancy may test negative if taken too early, or too late because the body will eventually,(around 6-11 weeks) begin to try to expel the pregnancy when hormone levels begin to drop when the fetus is no longer viable and must be removed
Hope it helps!
You can test negative with an HPT with any pregnancy. I know of women you were two months pregnant before they got a positive test result. If you think you may have an ectopic pregnancy go see your doctor immediately because if the tube ruptures you are in big trouble.
Yes! Go to the doctor NOW if you suspect an ecptoic pregnancy. Caught early enough, they can be dealt w and the woman will have a 100% chance of conceiving and delivering a perfectly happy, full-term baby. But if you wait, the consequences can be fatal.
Although the chances are slim with a urine test performed at a doctor's office, it still can be possible to receive a negative result early in an ectopic pregnancy. If you used a home test the chances are slightly higher. If you think it is possible that you are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, you need to go to the doctor or health department. An ectopic pregnancy can be very dangerous.
The short answer is no. If the pregnancy test is negative, you are not pregnant, and therefore you cannot have an ectopic pregnancy.
The long answer is somewhat more complex. There have been case reports in the medical literature of women with demonstrated ectopic pregnancy that had negative urine and even blood pregnancy tests. It is uncertain why this occurred in these circumstances, but it should be noted that this is VERY RARE.
For the overwhelming majority of women, a negative pregnancy test means ectopic pregnancy is an impossibility.
Due to the possibility of lower levels of hormone with ectopic pregnancy it is possible to have a home test show that you are not pregnant while you have an EP.

No. It will still show as pregnant. Of course everyone is different, but I took two and almost immediately it said I was pregnant. A week later I found out it was ectopic.
No, it says positive.

Meaning "negative pregnancy test" with ectopic pregnancy: Any test can fail, urine test, blood simple test, and quantitative HGC test. Also the timing of the test versus the diagnosis by image (ultrasound). Ectopic pregnancy is only diagonsed with image, ultrasound, CT, MR.
Most pregnancy tests test for the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in the woman's blood or urine. Ectopic pregnancies are usually picked up by home pregnancy tests however it is possible that do to lower levels of hCG that sometimes result from ectopic pregnancies you could get a false negative. Ectopic pregancies can potentially become very dangeros, if you suspect that you may have an ectopic pregnancy even if a home pregnancy test is negative, it would be wise to see a physician. It may be an ectopic pregnancy
If it was an ectopic pregnancy, you would still show positive on a pregnancy test. Do you have any other pregnancy symptoms? I would not consider pregnancy unless you feel you may be pregnant from some other sign.
It depends on the test. Read the instructions on the test kit you purchased.
It depends on what that pregnancy test uses to indicate pregnancy. Read the directions carefully to see what they use to indicate a positive or negative pregnancy test.
Of course you can doesnt change that
Probably not. If you are in an ectopic pregnancy you will have lots of pain - even if you're only one month pregnant. The pain will be so bad that you'll be forced to see a doctor or go to the emergency room.
Cysts, ectopic preg, and menopause and some very rare medical conditions can give misleading results.
negative= not pregnant positive= pregnant be sure to read the instructions on the pregnancy test package
If the pregnancy test was negative, it means that you are not pregnant.
