I just had one fallopian tube and ovary removed due to an ovarian cyst. They also tied my other tube off and did a c-section at the same time.

What organ is cut and tied when woman undergoes tubal ligation?

The fallopian tube is cut, tied, clamped, cauterized or plugged during a tubal ligation.

How does tubal ligation prevent pregnancy?

It is within the Fallopian tube that fertilization, the joining of the egg and the sperm, takes place. During tubal ligation, the tubes are cut or blocked in order to close off the sperm's access to the egg.

Can you get a tubal reversal if your tubes aren't long enough?

Although the more length of fallopian tube after tubal ligation reversal the better it is not impossible for those with shorter tubes to get pregnant and have children.

How will it take to get pregnant after a tubal pregnancy?

No, in a tubal ligation, the doctor puts a tiny clip on each fallopian tube. This procedure essentially blocks the path of the egg to the uterus. The inside of a fallopian tube is small, literally just a few hair's widths in diameter, to begin with so the likelyhood that a woman would get pregnant "easily" after a tubal ligation is slim, although not impossible.

Can you get pregnant 8yrs after tubal ligation?

The more time that passes after a tubal ligation the (slightly) higher the risk of regeneration of the fallopian tube/s. It is extremely rare but it can happen. Because there is scar tissue from the tubal ligation, there is also an increase chance of a tubal pregnancy. If your period suddenly stops, whether you are having symptoms of pregnancy or not, take a pregnancy test or see your OB / GYN.

Can you get a tubal reversal after having them clamped?

Yes it is possible. Having clamps and then having the procedure reversed leads to excellent healthy fallopian tube lengths. This is one of the best tubal ligation methods to reverse.

Can you have surgery to reverse tubligation if your tubes are burnt?

The fallopian tube lengths remaining after a tubal ligation procedure are important determinants of the chances of getting pregnant after tubal reversal surgery. (Normal fallopian tube length before a tubal ligation is approximately 10 cm or 4 inches.)Women with tubal lengths of 7.5 cm or longer had a pregnancy rate of 77%. The pregnancy rate declined as tubal length decreased, but even women with the shortest tubes (less than 2.5 cm) became pregnant (38%). Although previously unreported in the medical literature, it became apparent during this study that a repaired fallopian tube of any length can result in pregnancy. Based on reports by women with only 1 fallopian tube, we now know that tubal lengths as short as 1 cm can result in a normal pregnancy.

What are tubal pregnancies?

The pregnancy in which embryo implants in the fallopian tube.

Does tubal revearsal have a high success rate?

Tubal reversal after tubal ligation does not have a high success rate. The most common way of modern tubal ligation is to burn the ends of the tube and it is not very successful with reversal.

Is it true that a woman can GROW a new fallopian tube after a ligation?

false

Can a woman have an topic pregnancy if her tubes are tied?

It's possible for a tubal ligation to fail, for the fallopian tubes to grow back together even after being cut. If this happens, an ectopic pregnancy (in which the embryo implants itself in the fallopian tube instead of in the uterus) is possible.
