Actually no. Assult is still assult, regardless if it is asked for or not. It can be phrased various ways but ultimately it's still the act of striking someone which would be considered an act of violence. Case in point: Person A askes Person B to hit him in the arm, ( the context could be a joke or to prove some point ) now Person A hauls off and drills Person B in the arm as requested but didn't realize that Officer Jones and several other people witness the act from a distance and were not party to the discussion between A & B so they were unaware that this was a requested action by Person A for Person B. Officer Jones comes over and arrests Person B for assult. Person A doesn't need to press charges because Officer Jones and several other people have witnessed the act and can attest that charges be pressed regardless of any statement from Person A. Now many people will have various veiws on this little scenerio but it's the fact that a violent act was commited with or without the consent of one of the parties which makes it illegal. Even if it's a joke or not it's a matter of prospective and this is what makes it difficult to say it was a joke or it was an overt act to harm another individual.
