Yes. Remember that the caliber is not as important as shot placement. Know the animal and the kill zone. A shot through both lungs is the minimum. Try for the heart and both lungs, this will insure a humane, quick kill.
I smaller caliber and cartridge with perfect shot placement is better than larger caliber and cartridge and bad shot placement.
Most any animal can be killed with a .22 if the shot is done right.
I wold use a .357 though
