Yes. The theft lock is actually in the radio so the radio cannot easily be installed in a different car. If you later decide to put the radio back in the same car it will work fine. You might check your owners manual package and see if there is a card in there marked radio codes. If there is put that with the radio when you store it in case you decide to sell it or put in a different car.
As for the CD player it will do just fine. Some of those after market CD players also have security codes. Just enter them as directed and you cars computer will recognise it.
Yes, because you will be discarding your old radio anyway. If it were to have theft codes, they would be stored in the radio. Just toss your old radio, because it will be scrap. The theft code is usually in the radio itself - so if you buy a NEW CD/Radio or wahtever then if it does offer a theft code then you will have it. If you want to re-use the original radio , then you need to find its code and enter it to make it work.
No, the factory radio is not an anti theft radio.
yes you can install an aftermarket radio in a GM vehicle that is equiped with a theft lock radio. the radio itsel has the theftlock not the car so you can install any aftermarket radio in the car. There may be some other parts that you may need to install an aftermarket radio such as a dash kit, wiring harness and antenna adaptor. If your vehicle is a newer model with Bose and onstar, you may need an integration kit made by PAC-audio.
if your radio is theft protected you may have a short and that would triger the radio to go into theft mode enter the security code if this is a factory radio and it doesnt work call the dealership parts dept and give code
Take it to a dealership. The theft lock feature is there to deter theft of these radios.
They are already there. If you have the PC version, you can play your mp3 player on GTA San Andreas.
Remove the radio(carefully). The code is on the back Wow, real theft detterent
What about it? Do you have a question?
hello ! were is the theft control module on my 94 camaro
You have to take down the serial number and call the dealer and give it to them, only they can give you the anti theft code for the radio. make sure you write the code down and keep it in a safe place.
Get a freakin life dude
Sure, if it fits. BUT if it's a newer model and has THEFTLOCK (Theft-Deterrent Feature), you will have to take it to a GM dealer to unlock it, because it will not play (something to do with the Vehicle Identification Number)...
