I updated to windows seven and all of the files for the microsoft office applications are there but they are not installed and will not work. I need to know if it is possible to install them from that because I do not want to pay for them again.
Thanks!
No, you will have to purchase the program. CS5 and most other commercial programs install files in several areas, not just the Program Files directory. Even if you were to put all the files in the correct place, the copy protection would not let you run the program on a different computer.
The exe extension primarily tells the computer it is trying to run an executable file. This means is telling the computer to install or run something. All software like games have exe files that prompt the computer to install the program and to open it each time one clicks on the shortcut.
You can't, but after installation, log on to the users you want the game on and go to the game's program files (go to computer, then OS, then program files, or program files X86 if you're running windows 7) and right-click the game launcher and hit copy, then go to the desktop and paste shortcut. This will let you access the game from that profile.
It is not possible to just copy and paste your game files over to a new computer. You may need to install all the gaming files onto the computer, the manually (install the games the way you did with your old computer).
Definitely an anti virus protection program, without these your computer won't work at all.
What a defrag does is organize files on different sectors on the hard drive. For example; If you install a program, the files spread out and some go onto different sectors of the hard drive. When the program loads, it will take longer to find these files. Defraging will put all these files together so the next time you load the program, it will load quickly.
My computer has all of your drives in your computer in the My Computer files. This can be accessed by going to start, my computer. Then you should see different drives like your hardware drives. Here you can access your program files and any floppy or USB drives you put into your computer.
Download & install a Antivirus program & scan all the drives of your computer. Otherwise, u can scan all the drives of your computer from command promt itself.
Because - simply deleting the program from the hard drive isn't enough. When you install a program, Windows embeds references to the program into the registry, and tells other drivers the program is available for use. When you uninstall a program through the control panel, all references to the program are removed - from various areas of the computer. If you simply delete the program files from the hard-drive - the registry is unaffected, and the computer will still try to link a (now non-existent) program to everything that program used to be connected to.
backdoor program
That depends on what steps you used in the installation program.
BEFORE you re-install Windows - it's absolutely vitalthat you copy ALL your personal files to disk (or other storage media). Re-installing Windows will wipe your hard-drive of all its data before the program re-installs all the necessary bits that it needs ! If you didn't back-up your files before you do the re-install - you have lost everything !
